The stack top at the start of the job is cracked and loose, there
is water getting in to the flues causing damp.

Where the old gas flue is now not in use the masonry has come away.

We start by removing the stack top and consolidating the old masonry.

Next we set a concrete flag through the stack top to tie the stack
together...

... and give us a solid base to lay our lead onto.

We then weld 100mm lead pipes on to the lead sheet to form the vents
for the flues.

The lead is then given a coat of bitumen to prevent any reaction between
the lead and mortar.

The masonry is then reset to form up the stack top ...

... and pot vents are placed over the lead pipes.
| The stack top is now totally water proof and the
vents take care of any moist air that gets in to the flues... |
